Support program for young female basketball players
Project objective:
The company U. S. Steel has decided to realize, in cooperation with individual basketball clubs in Kosice, the Support program for young female basketball players. The main objective of the program is to give support as well as a chance to young talents from socially disadvantaged families.
Target group:
school age girls
As for selection into the Support program for young female basketball players from socially disadvantaged families, girls which have applied shall be chosen by club trainers and representatives of U. S. Steel Kosice according to an approval process based upon the following criteria:
- age between 10 and 13 years
- talent, physical predisposition and ability
- social situation of the family of the applicant
- good scholastic results
Forms of support:
Within the framework of supporting the development of young basketball talent, U. S. Steel Kosice shall cover costs for the girls selected of:
- the training process
- part of the sporting equipment
Inclusion into the program shall be preceded by:
- recruitment of children (carried out throughout the year, excluding July)
- selection of young talent
