Culture

     In the context of charity and humanity, USSK supports the majority of children's homes in the Košice and Prešov regions. Besides financial support and toy & clothes collections, the children especially appreciate new experiences such as being taken to ice-hockey matches with the Košice Extra League team in the Steel Arena, sports events with Slovak Olympic athletes, or balloon flights.

     Attention is also paid to crisis centers, social services homes, homes for seniors either independently or in cooperation with the Archdiocese Charity in Košice. USSK regularly supports the Fenestra Civic Association, which provides help for victims of domestic violence, and the

     "Autumn of Life" Civic Association, bringing together senior citizens who are former steelmakers. The support includes interest and sports clubs for disabled citizens - e.g. wheelchair people, those with vision and hearing impairments, and also special elementary and boarding schools.

     All of the above institutions presented their activities and raised funds for their activities in a USSK charity stall during Christmas 2006.
