Establisher of the Foundation
The Foundation was established in accordance with SR Law No.34/2002 Statutes with a foundation charter and the name Nadacia U. S. Steel Kosice on December 11th 2002. The initiator of its establishment was the management of U. S. Steel Kosice, s.r.o. led by Company President John H. Goodish. The activity of the U. S. Steel Kosice Foundation is permitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Slovak Republic and registered as no. 203/Na-2002/695.
Mission and goals
- The Foundation's goal is to support public-benefit projects in health-care and education, and financially support science, culture and charity. U. S. Steel Kosice's priorities in the field of donations focus primarily on assisting and supporting those who are directly dependent on such support, especially children in children's homes and the disabled, as well as organizations and clubs involved in social and charitative activities. The Foundation's mission is: to give vulnerable groups of citizens hope of improvement in their living conditions, and where possible to moderate their physical or mental suffering.
- To enable such citizens to live their lives to the full, not merely survive.
- To organize and promote charitative activities in support of precisely those people who are not able to improve their own situation without assistance from economically stronger entities.
- To focus assistance on projects which produce benefit for large groups of people.
- Our intention is also to support talented children, and by means of financial and material gifts to contribute to improving the educational process in schools.
Rules of the Foundation's activities
Who may contribute to the Foundation?
The following may provide gifts and donations to the Foundation fund:
- legal entities based within the Slovak Republic or abroad
- private individuals resident within the Slovak Republic or abroad
Who may apply for a contribution from the Foundation?
- private individuals
- legal entities whose activity corresponds with the public-benefit purpose of the Foundation

The Foundation's expenses
The Foundation's financial resources are used only in accordance with its public-benefit purpose and to cover expenses (costs) incurred in administering the Foundation under the following conditions: the amount of expenses (costs) incurred in administering the Foundation is set by the Board of Trustees each year at a level deemed indispensable for maintaining the Foundation's activity until December 15th in the following calendar year.

The Foundation's bodies
- The Board of Trustees is the supreme authority of the Foundation.
- The Foundation Administrator is the statutory body of the Foundation.
- The Supervisory Board is the regulatory body of the Foundation.
