The young athlete support program

     Many young talents are not allowed to develop simply because the financial aspects of their sport are very demanding for the family. The company U. S. Steel endeavors to level the playing field, with chances and opportunities for all.

     A concrete expression of this approach are two programs intended for the support of children gifted in sport - hockey and basketball talent from socially disadvantaged families. The company U. S. Steel wants to give the opportunity for talent to flourish regardless of social background.

     Mainly for boys in the age group of 5.5 to 8 years, this would be the support program for young hockey players in which U. S. Steel covers the HC Kosice club fees and assists in purchasing equipment. For girls between the ages of 10 and 13 a program has been determined for young basketball players. The young soccer players support program is for boys and girls in the age group of 10 to 13 years with the same form of support.
