Author: USS Košice

Kosice, August 24th 2006 - For the fifth time, metal refuse from the U. S. Steel Kosice operations will be put to good use in the hands of young designers from Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Fourteen students from five high schools and universities of artistic orientation manage to change ordinary metal material, through their own artistic treatment, and raise it to a remarkable level. It happens during the international workshop Metal Inspirations 2006, organized by the metallurgical company in cooperation with the Faculty of fine arts at the Technical University in Kosice and the Professional trade school in Kosice - Saca.

Talented students have been finding their inspiration in metal since 2002 when the project was realized for the first time. This time as well, the work-halls at SOU metallurgical in Kosice - Saca shall serve as the site for the creation of undoubtedly interesting works of art. The designers will be under the supervision of their professors and professional education experts and work on the themes of: Setting the world in motion, Warmth of steel, and Safety in everyday living. The metal variations shall be presented by their authors to the public at an exhibition in the Gallery of U. S. Steel Kosice.

An exhibition will take place on Monday, August 28th 2006 at 17:00. The exhibition runs until November 3rd 2006.
