Kosice, August 31, 2005 - Three singers, three music groups and a trio of dancing groupings are the result of June's selection rounds of 5th year of U. S. Steel Talent Night 2005 and at the same time are nine finalists fighting for the championship in their categories. The competitors are presenting themselves to the public during the final night on Friday, September 2, 2005 at the State theatre and in the Hlavna street.
The major organizer of the competition, aiming at looking up and encouragement of talented youth of Eastern Slovakia, is U. S. Steel Kosice. The own creation competition has a regional feature and since its origin in 2001 it has been dedicated for applicants of Kosice and Presov districts only. The participants presented one own song and choreography to the jury in selection rounds. 10 participants of each category advanced to the semi-final and they presented further two songs and choreographies of their own creation there. The jury rated three of ten in each category proceeding to the final. The participation in the competition is an excellent opportunity and experience for competitors thus having a possibility to communicate with recognized professionals. The jury members advised the applicants in all areas. They evaluated overall display, costumes, they warned of shortcomings and advised what to work at in the future and what to rather avoid.

In the final, Jozef Hruskoci (Secovce), Monika Mihalova (Hudcove - Humenne) and Anna Mižicova (Kosice) are appearing in the singing category. Hviezdicka (Kosice), Bodies (Presov) and a pair Marian Sivak and Patricia Prnova (Kosice) are appearing from among dancers. Exclusively Kosice groupings Arrived Message, Podfuck and Dilemma are playing among music groups. Program moderators are Katika Žitniakova at the theatre and Vera Wisterova in the Hlavna street. Program guests Dan Barta and Illustratosphere, No Name, Mec Vrabec, Stereo, last year competition winners and a guest from Latvia - the group Brainstorm are taking care of the authentic atmosphere of the final night and musical experience.

The jury composed of: Jan Ďurovcik - jury's chairman, Peter Riava (Director of the musical publishing house Universal Music), Oskar Rózsa (musician and music producer), Ivan Tasler (singer of the group IMT Smile), Petr Horacek (choreographer), Tibor Egry (Director of Okey Top Radio) and Lumir Mati (Director of Slavica Praha) is evaluating the finalists' performances during the gala performance at the theatre. The finalists are also awarded with two special awards, the viewer's award and the best instrumental performance award.

The program for the public is beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Hlavna street by Immaculata statue. The promotional competition drawing lots with super prizes is taking place at 6:30 p.m. The six hour music and entertainment marathon is culminating by traditional fireworks.
