Banská Štiavnica comes alive with the nationwide Days of Miners, Metallurgists, Geologists and Oilmen

On September 9 Banská Štiavnica hosted the traditional Salamander Days, an inseparable part of which since 1998 have been the nationwide Days of Miners, Metallurgists, Geologists and Oilmen, when the participants recall and celebrate the glory and traditions of the so-called “black crafts”.

On this occasion SR Minister for Trade and Industry Peter Žiga acknowledged various individuals and teams of employees who have been responsible for the positive results, successes and growing good reputation of their organiztions. The badge of honor of the SR Minister for Trade and Industry inscribed “For Loyalty in Work” was presented to steelmakers Ivan Dávid, Štefan Obšitník, Viktor Poracký, Peter Kolesár and Dušan Ujházi. The badge of honor of the SR Minister for Trade and Industry inscribed “For Selflessness at Work” went to Jozef Tvardzik and Pavol Pástor, and Ladislav Reštei was awarded the title of Exemplary Rescue-worker.
