Let's revive and present our ancestors' heritage at home and abroad
Last year's sixth edition of the annual grant program run jointly by U. S. Steel Kosice and the Carpathian Foundation called Together for the Region saw
ten organizations gain grants for implementing public-benefit projects. One of those benefiting from the financial support ws the village of Brezovica. The dream of the lovers of traditional folk
art and popular culture there about preserving local traditions could begin taking on real contours. The locals' aim was to revive the cultural heritage of their ancestors, to familiarize young
people with the village's folk traditions, and to present them both locally and abroad. For these reasons, after a lengthy silence the Brezovican traditional folk ensemble was re-formed in
Brezovica. The grant program contribution helped with the acquisition of new folk costumes.
