Trade unions assess their work over the last year

On Friday, April 22, 2016, the conference for the Board of trade unions OZ KOVO U. S. Steel Košice was held. Delegates chosen in the main organizations OZ KOVO took stock of activities of the year gone by. The steelmakers welcomed to their midst the President of U. S. Steel Košice Scott Buckiso, Vice Presidents Martin Pitorák, Marcel Novosad, Elena Petrášková and Miroslav Kiraľvarga, as well as general managers and directors of division plants of parent and daughter companies. The trade union KOVO was represented at the discussions by OZ KOVO Chairman Emil Machyna and members of the Board of Directors OZ KOVO – for the Košice region Ján Šlauka and for Prešov region Jozef Balica.

Chairman of the Council of trade unions OZ KOVO U. S. Steel Košice Mikuláš Hintoš, in a report as to the activities of the past period, analyzed the attainment of goals and targets of the trade union organization for the year 2015, which are derived from the OZ KOVO program. Their main mission is the improvement of work, wage, and social conditions and work safety conditions of the employees. President of USSK Scott Buckiso also had a word for the participants in the negotiations, and reviewed the results achieved in the year 2015 at the Košice steel plant and within the entire corporation and directed the attention of those present to the priorities of year 2016. Current issues from the lives of the company employees resonated during the discussion.
