All U. S. Steel Košice hot roll products are produced utilizing modern steel making practices to insure that superior chemical composition and product quality are achieved. The fully killed steel is 100% continuously cast into steel slabs. Our continuous casters supply our hot strip mill with the best quality slabs produced anywhere in the world. The product is hot rolled to produce a final coil with uniform mechanical properties, dimensional characteristics, flatness and surface quality. U. S. Steel provides hot roll products in the form of:
a) coils
b) sheets (or cut lengths)
c) strips

The U. S. Steel Košice quality control system is in accordance with international standard ISO 9001, issued by TÜV CERT. Presented products can be certified in accordance with the European Parliament regulation 97/23/EC, UDT Poland, and by the Ü mark for steels used in German civil engineering.

The hot rolled products are classified into quality grades according to their chemical composition and mechanical properties.

Surface treatment

• mill finished	sheets, coils, strips cut in length
• abrasively cleaned	sheets (oiled, non-oiled)
• pickled	sheets, coils, strips cut in length (oiled), thickness up to 4.0 mm

Edges

• mill edge	coils (sheets – subject to inquiry)
• trimmed	sheets(coils – subject to inquiry)

Weldability

• steels are suitable for welding with standard techniques.

Heat treatment

• controlled rolling mode
• non pickled (scale) non temper rolled
• pickled non temper rolled

Dimensions

inner diameter	coils approx. 850 mm.
	strips approx. 600 or 850 mm.
