U. S. Steel Košice, s.r.o. is the largest producer of flat rolled products in Central Europe.

It combines two great steel traditions - Slovak technical and international expertise and U. S. customer driven focus, to create a leader in flat rolled products.

U. S. Steel Košice's production program consists of a wide assortment of hot rolled, cold rolled, and coated products including tin and dynamo products. Besides above-mentioned products U. S. Steel Košice also manufactures spiral welded steel pipes in compliance with API, EN and DIN standards. The pipe production is certificated by several internationally recognized certification bodies.

Pipe production

are produced by steel strip forming to pipe shape and followed by automatic double-side submerged arc welding (S.A.W.)
are delivered in compliance with DIN, API, EN Standards respectively by other mutually agreed standards or technical conditons
are manufactured in the range of outside nominal diameters from 406 to 1420 mm and the wall thickness from 5.0 to 12.5 mm (for wall thickness 14,2 mm and for outer diameter above 813 mm, the grades St 37.0, GRADE B PSL1, P 235 TR2, P 235 GH, S 235 JRH are subject to prior agreement), in the lengths 8 to 18 m or in exact lengths with tolerances corresponding to appropriate standards.
are produced from low carbon as well as microalloyed steels with guaranteed weldability
are carefully tested using non-destructive methods (X-ray, ultrasonic); high quality and reliability of delivered pipes are guaranteed.

Quality control system

according to EN ISO 9001-2000 Standard and EN ISP 14 001 Standard by TÜV NORD
according to API Spec. 5L Standard by American Petroleum Institute. Producer of pipes has a licence for using of logo API issued with number 5L-0317.

Testing

If some tests differ from those defined by quality standards, or pipe properties are guaranteed according to special agreements with the partners, technical conditions for such tests should be agreed before any delivery contract is signed.

Products inspection

The products are delivered on the basis of a requirement stated in a sale contract after agreement of contracting parties.

civil engineering and structural purposes, piling.

Special production

Production of pipes according to DIN 1626, API Spec. 5L, EN 10 217-1, EN 10 217-5,EN 10 219 in grades St 37.0/GRADE B PSL1/P 235 TR2/P 235 GH/S 235 JRH
