The Network Operations Team (NOC) is an important group within the IT Infrastructure organization, whose primary goal is to provide computer services to both internal and external stakeholders of U. S. Steel Corporation and its affiliates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The team manages a broad range of technical areas including servers, networking, and system administration.

The technical specialist NOC coordinates critical incident tickets, collects and shares additional information and escalates them to the responsible authorities. As an proactive action he provides data analysis to prevent critical events occurrence. He will work with the production systems, will serve as a functional liaison for infrastructure, applications and databases support to respond, prioritize and coordinate issue solving. The role involves working with several different technical teams to coordinate activities.
- Coordinates critical incident tickets, collects and shares additional information
- Open, track and close/escalate internal and external incident, problem, and/or change request tickets
- Escalates problems to the responsible authorities, interpret problems, provide technical support
- Keep track of issues and resolutions, use automated diagnostic programs and resolve recurrent problems
- Problem solving: gathering information, evaluating options and offering good solutions
- Product and technical knowledge: understanding both the overall systems environment, such as systems maintenance, HW support, WAN connectivity and security services, as well as the specific products in use like databases and production systems
- Maintain documentation
- Reporting
- On-call support

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or computer-related degree, or equivalent experience
- Language skills – English speaker
- Technology and computer troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Very strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to handle a complex, fast-changing office environment with multiple priorities.

Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in IT infrastructure including HW, networks, OSs, DBs
- Strong organizational, project, process and time management skills
- Certifications in the specific technologies or products is valuable
- Familiarity with alternative products and the nature of technical problems
