About the company
The company OBAL-SERVIS, a.s. Kosice was established in 1992. Its main focus of activities is provision of services in the area of finished goods packing. Its overriding goal for providing these services is constant decreasing of packing costs for its customers through optimization of packing processes, by using the most appropriate technology and suitable packing materials. The company U. S. Steel Kosice is the biggest customer. The company also has other customers and it tries to enlarge its activities and to diversify its sources not only on the domestic market but also abroad.
Most of the equipment used by the company for its activities in the area of packing is the intellectual property of this company and therefore it is protected by commercial patterns and patents at the Office of Industrial Property.
OBAL-SERVIS, a.s. started its activity in 1992 with 45 employees and after 14 years of business it now employs more than 700 workers.

- Production and assembly of single-purpose, semi-automatic and automatic machines and equipment for production of specific components for product protection
- Planning and construction of complete packing workplaces for flat rolled products

- Sales and servicing of strapping technology and accessories from various producers
- Commercial activity related to delivery of packing services
Certificates
The quality standard of our packing was confirmed in 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2004 with the GOLD PACK award at the international trade fair of printing, paper and packing known by the name of PRINTING. This was for the best packing in individual years.
In 2000, in the competition for the prize of the President of VSZ a.s. for quality, the company was given an award in acknowledgement of its achieved results.
Since 1999 the company has established and now uses a certificated quality management system, and in 2003 it was re-certificated in accordance with the standard EN ISO 9001:2000 with regard to service delivery in the area of product packing.
In 2006 there was successfully conducted the first certification audit of the environment management system, according to the standard STN EN ISO 14 001:2004, and the third renewal audit of the quality management system STN EN ISO 9001:2000. As the first daughter of the corporation USSK, OBAL-SERVIS owns the certificates of quality and environment management systems. At the same time, the company is building a system of work safety management system, in compliance with the standard OHSAS 18001:1999.
