About the company
The company Refrako s.r.o. was estabilished at the end of 2002 and continues the production of refractory ceramic materials which began in 1965 in the Metallurgical Ceramics plant as part of the VSZ Kosice steelworks.
The company is part of the U. S. Steel Kosice, s.r.o. group as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
In 1990 an independent company VSZ Keramika, s.r.o. Kosice was founded, which then underwent gradual transformation until December 2nd 2002, when Refrako s.r.o. began its activities. The company Refrako s.r.o. has two manufacturing plants:

The manufacturing program:
- high-aluminum shaped refractory materials
- standard and acidic fire-clay and insulation shaped materials
- loose aluminum silicate metallurgical and insulation materials
- fire-clay prefabricates
- shapeable materials - plastic, ramming
- binding materials
- fired magnesium and magnesium-spinel shaped materials
- decorative fire clay , prefabricated garden fireplaces and hearths

The manufacturing program:
- magnesium-carbon materials
- high-aluminum spinel and magnesium-spinel shaped materials with a carbon additive
- loose alkaline materials (ramming and guniting mixture, binding materials).
Certificates
Refrako s.r.o. owns certificates on conformity of building product quality and an TÜV NORD quality management system certificates in accordance with the standard EN ISO 9001:2008 and EN ISO 14001:2004.
