Students know how to make meaningful use of summer

This year's 21st year of the U. S. Steel Košice Summer Internship culminated on Thursday, 25.8.2022 with presentations of individual groups. The solutions of the case study were presented by 43 fourth-year students of Slovak and foreign colleges and universities. They had the opportunity to capitalize on the knowledge and skills acquired during the work on projects under the guidance of experienced mentors, as well as the skills acquired in trainings focused on teamwork, presentation skills, problem solving, preparation for interviews, ethics, coaching models and metallurgical production processes.

Students divided into six groups faced the challenge of restructuring a noname company. The presentations were very well prepared and the level of performance of the groups was very balanced.  "This task was best undertaken by the fourth group, which presented a comprehensive analysis of the situation, proposed the implementation of substantial changes in individual areas, proposed innovative solutions and justified its proposals for solving the task," said Milan Polča, GM's representative for human resources security and development, pictured with the winning team together with Erika Linkeschová, coordinator of the USSK Summer Internship project, and Ľubomír Gromoš,  Head of the Recruitment and Selection Department. The winning group consisted of: Július Bodnár, Ronald Ružínský, Volodymyr Levchuk, Andrea Gömöriová, Alexandra Straková, Michaela Benediková and Mária Paračková.  This new practical experience will greatly help students in further studies and also in successful career at work.
