Kosice man in the World Steel Association
For more than a year now, Ladislav Horvath from the Department of GM Research and Development USSE has been working at the World Steel Association in Beijing, China,
where he is engaged as a member of an international team of experts on a project for reducing energy consumption in the steel industry. The work on this project currently involves 31 steelmaking
corporations, organizations and associations from all over the world, whose combined production in 2010 amounted to approximately 374 million tons of steel, which represents just over 26 per cent
of total steel production in the world.
The main aim of the project, responsibility for which as far as the U. S. Steel Corporation is concerned is taken by U. S. Steel Kosice Director
Environmental Affairs Peter Mosny, is to analyze the possibilities of reducing energy consumption in steel production in the combined metallurgical cycle.
