Qualified employees are the basis of every company's success. U. S. Steel Kosice, s.r.o. provides various kinds of support for the education of existing and potential employees.
Cooperation with high schools and universities forms an inseparable part of the Company's education policy. One form of cooperation involves graduation theses, which enable students to converge theory with practise, and this also helps to solve specific problems.
University students are also given the opportunity to participate in production and management activities in the form of summer internships. In addition U. S. Steel Kosice enables high school and university students to gain technical experience in individual company operations.
In 2004 a new project was prepared to support talented students from Eastern Slovakia. The U. S. Steel Kosice Scholarship Program is designed for students living in socially disadvantaged conditions and its purpose is to make access to university education easier for them.
As the largest employer in Eastern Slovakia, U. S. Steel Kosice deals with the filling of employment vacancies mainly through internal resources, i.e. requalification of existing employees. In cases requiring the filling of work-places from external sources, the Company accepts employment applications for specific positions.
