U. S. Steel Services s.r.o. is a subsidiary company, with U. S. Steel Kosice having a nearly 100 percent share. The company was established on July 1st 2003. Its main priority is to provide services for U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o., its subsidiary companies, as well as become established externally. At the current time it employs 106 people in technical and working professions.
U. S. Steel Services provides services in the following areas:
- accommodation
- meals
- recreation
- catering
- cleaning and washing OOPP
- washing white laundry
- minor repairs OOPP
- delivering mail parcels
- providing protective drinks for the subsidiary companies of USSK
Operations

The laundry center on the grounds of U. S. Steel is intended for the chemical cleaning and washing of work clothes for the employees of the company U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o. and other companies active on the U. S Steel premises or in Kosice - Saca. The wash-house also carries out the washing of white laundry for both food service and accommodation facilities.
Other activities performed by the operation:
- ironing OOPP and white laundry
- repairing OOPP - at the request of the client
- handling and distribution OOPP and white laundry - at the request of the client
- designating OOPP
The wash-house underwent reconstruction of its internal and external space at the beginning of the year 2005. Part of this reconstruction was the installation of a new chemical cleaning machine, 2 washers, and a tunnel finisher and folder. In the year 2006 there was added on a delivery storeroom of work clothes. In the year 2008 the capacity expanded with another three new washers.
The Delivery service operation ensures the delivery of internal and external mail and parcels, the daily press, postal box services, sending packages for the company U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o and other organizations with their offices on the U. S. Steel premises and in Kosice-Saca. New services of the operation include the provision of protective drinks for the subsidiary companies of USSK and periodicals for U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o.
Pension Alzbetina is located in Kosice on Alzbetina street, and for U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o. it offers the following services:
- meals for the employees working within the pension itself (SBS, U. S. Steel Services, language school)
- providing reception for press conferences and business negotiations for the representatives of upper management of U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o.
The operation named Arena is geared toward providing comprehensive gastro-services at the ice stadium Steel Arena, this is comprised of bars, buffets, restaurants, servicing skyboxes and fans during hockey matches, as well as during other organized events within Steel Arena.
The Upgrading center Medzev operation is located approx. 35 kilometers from Kosice. The center serves exclusively for the needs of the employees of U. S. Steel Kosice s.r.o. and its subsidiary companies and offers the services:
- accommodation (45 place capacity)
- food services
- relaxation (sauna, bowling, sporting and children`s playgrounds, seating outdoors)

- training sessions
- family celebrations, jubilees
- sporting days
- meeting with business partners
Since September 2007 the Protected Operation is part of the company the activities of which are divided as follows:

- Waste collection, storage, separation and improvement
- Ancillary work and service for USSK
Activities carried out for USSK, subsidiaries and external subjects
- Preparation and delivery of textile products (filtration bags)
- Inspection of safety harnesses and ropes
- Visual inspection of portable ladders
- Storage and issue of PPE for visitors
