The Christmas fairytale market on Hlavná Street in Košice became a place where the festive atmosphere was combined with humanity and willingness to help. The Archdiocesan Caritas Košice was part of them from 2 to 11 December 2025 thanks to the cooperation with U. S. Steel Košice. Over the course of ten days, the charity created a space for meetings, conversations and concrete help. 

Handmade items were offered at the charity stand, in which clients and employees of the charity participated. Their creation was the result of joint work and the daily efforts of the people whom the Košice Caritas accompanies on their journey. The stand was also a space for personal meetings. Every day, representatives of a different service or facility from all over the region worked in it. They explained their work to the visitors and answered questions about specific forms of assistance.

Thanks to the support of market visitors, €4,719.30 was collected. The funds raised will be used to support services for people in difficult life situations who need security, acceptance and professional help. Christmas fairy tale markets thus created space not only for the festive atmosphere, but also for quiet decisions to help. It is these that give charity work meaning.

As Silvia Hrabčáková from the Archdiocesan Caritas Košice said, cooperation with partners and openness to the public played an important role: "Thanks to the support of U. S. Steel Košice, we were able to be directly among people. The interest of market visitors and their open hearts will allow us to support the development of work skills in our facilities, through which we develop the skills of our clients and help them on the way to greater independence."
