Financial help for villages affected by flooding

Kosice, June 21, 2010 - Many people have been affected by the extensive flooding which struck Eastern Slovakia in late May this year. Representatives of leading companies in the region U. S. Steel Kosice, VSE, T-Systems Slovakia and Ness are aware of the problems of villages and Kosice city wards struggling with destructive water and landslides prevent-fouc. For this reason we have decided to combine our financial resources to help the affected villages.

The joint financial donation of U. S. Steel Kosice, VSE, T-Systems Slovakia and NESS amounting to 220 000 € will be distributed to:

  • The City of Kosice - 27 500 € for the most urgent flood relief effort in the city ward Krasna
  • Kosice Self-governing Region - 195 500 € for the most urgent flood relief effort in the following villages:
    Nizna Mysla - 82 500 €
    Cana - 27 500 €
    Sady nad Torysou - 27 500 €
    Vysna Hutka - 27 500 €
    Zdana - 27 500 €

We believe that in addition to the technical help we are providing, by combining financial sources we will be able to help the people in these villages more efficiently and that our approach could serve as a good example for other businesses in the region, which could help other villages in need.

Our support goes to villages in a simple and transparent way and we are determined to watch the effective distribution of the funds.
