With regard to the registration of intellectual property, in 2016 U. S. Steel Košice submitted four applications for registration of utility models in the Patents Book at the SR Office for Industrial Property.

The proposed items included Equipment and a Method for Safe Rotation of Roller Blocks, Equipment and a Method for Securing Crane Tracks and Rail Vehicles, a Method for Measuring Mechanical Properties of Hot-rolled Steel Strips, and a Special Tool for Opening and Closing Wagons. The SR Office for Industrial Property also registered our new design named Agglomeration Grid with Fin.
