Guests from Tauris learned about steel production

At the end of February, together with the winners of our Christmas competition organized in cooperation with TAURIS a.s., we visited one of the establishments, specifically in Spišská Nová Ves. Colleagues from TAURIS returned the visit on Tuesday.

A group of 12 managers came from various operations from all over Slovakia and we were happy that among them was the director from the Spiš region, Ladislav Štofila, who provided us with very interesting information during a recent tour of "his" plant.

The guests were welcomed by the Director of External Relations Ján Bača and then they were received by František Gregor from the Visitor Centre. He prepared an interesting tour for them, during which they visited the Steel Mill and the Hot Rolling Mill and Galvanizing Plant No. 3.

What impressions did they return from the show with? They had never been to ironworks before, they did not know much about steel production. The tour of the company made a huge impression on them. Several of them said that it was mainly huge halls that they could not even imagine and the size of the entire company.

Ivan Treľo, Human Resources Director and Member of the Board of Directors of TAURIS, a.s.: "We often pass by this colossus by car and we cannot imagine what is behind its gates. Hats off to the people who work here. I appreciate the enormous demands on safety at work, which is set very well in these operations, where any wrong movement can be dangerous."

Marián Šajban, HR Manager: "I was most interested in the large and huge halls. The tour of the galvanizing plant was very interesting."

Ladislav Štofila: "I was very impressed by the show. Thank you for the opportunity to see metallurgical production up close and I also very much appreciate the expert commentary we received. It is a completely different type of production than ours, but several processes are similar, from the purchase of raw materials, their receipt, the production of various assortments, distribution, quality, development... Many people only see the final product made of steel, but they can't imagine what is behind it. To see how steel is poured, how water flows... That was really very interesting."

We are already looking forward to the next competition with TAURIS, because we agreed at the meeting that our cooperation will definitely continue.
