Transportation employee Peter Benedik, Transport Section Coordinator at the Steel Shops, is U. S. Steel Košice's OSH Champion for August. He is responsible for the transfer of slabs and ferrous scrap, and he gained the title of Safety Champion for his participation in several activities and projects related to safety in the movement of dangerous loads. He was nominated for this award by his superiors, because for a long time he has been dealing with safety issues in the Steel Shops operation, exposing risks which others have missed, and immediately remedying them.
