Management meets with employees as year ends

The traditional year end meeting of management with employees took place as 2012 drew to a close. On Monday evening 31 December the president of U. S. Steel Kosice David J. Rintoul, chairman of the Council of trade unions OZ KOVO U. S. Steel Kosice Mikulas Hintos together with the mayor of Kosice Richard Rasi and other members of top management of the company came to salute the steelmakers and thank them for their work commitment and results achieved. The meeting was conducted at gatehouse #2 as the shifts changed over.

Employee Assistance Program begins

The human resources division USSK starts Work Life Coaching for the employees in January 2013, also known as the Employee Assistance Program, whose target is to provide aid in certain difficult life situations. A parallel program is running successfully at North American USS plants, in many successful companies abroad and in Slovakia as well. U. S. Steel Kosice in cooperation with the Human Dynamic company, an independent leader in the provision of consulatation services in the area of managing human resources, is offering the service to all employees and their family members free of charge.

Hockey championship for U. S. Steel Kosice title

On Monday 14 January at the Steel Arena begins the 47th edition of the annual U. S. Steel Kosice hockey championship for 2013, which is part of year XVII for the U. S. Steel Kosice Winter games. The opening game will be played by teams from Power engineering and the Cold rolling mill. All told 12 participating teams drawn into two groups will vie for the itinerant President`s Cup. The winner shall be named on 12 February 2013 as the finals are scheduled to be played. For the fourth time the Steel shop will seek to defend its title.
