On Friday of last week historic Banská Štiavnica was the venue for the annual Miners’, Steelmakers’, Geologists’ and Oilmen’s Day celebrations. Several members of the Government of the Slovak Republic took part in the official ceremony in St. Catherine’s Church. Minister for Trade and Industry Richard Sulík presented professional decorations to a total of 36 people working in these related branches of industry, among them of course several of our colleagues in U. S. Steel Košice, including the subsidiary companies. Nine steelmakers received a medal inscribed For Loyalty at Work and three of them a medal inscribed For Selflessness at Work.
