Carp is still sleeping

Our Christmas, when my son was 3 years old. We wanted to give him the experience of a carp in a bathtub. He was very pleased, he did not give him peace for a moment. We discussed whether and how we would then tell him that he was on the Christmas table. In the morning he came to our bedroom: "The carp is still sleeping," that he had already checked it.  However, the carp fell asleep prematurely and we had another fish for dinner

 

There will be one more person at the table

I will start with a funny story from the past, when our two sons were still small. Dad bought a live carp and we put it in the bathtub.... The boys were looking forward to it and came to watch it every now and then. After about 20 minutes, I found out that it was somehow quiet... Where are they? What do they do?

And what I don't see: my boys in the bathroom with their sleeves rolled up, with brushes in their hands, bent over a bathtub with a carp that was all in foamy water and scrubbed on all sides with brushes. "Mom, I want him to be bathed and fragrant! "

We try to spend the holidays traditionally, we bake cookies together, especially gingerbread, which we all decorate together. We "dress" the tree on Christmas Eve morning, then we prepare food for the festive dinner, when we sit together at the festively set table, after the church bell rings at 6:00 p.m. (until then we fast).

Christmas wafers (honey and garlic), cabbage soup (without meat and sausage), fish and mayonnaise salad, berries with poppy seeds, desserts, nuts, fruit and, of course, something to drink and a lit candle must not be missing on the table.

I've learned my lesson and I don't buy gifts at the last minute, as my mobile phone (my beautiful luminous Nokia) was stolen in the past in a hurry.

Last year, we received the most beautiful gift from our son and daughter-in-law for Christmas - the most beautiful Christmas decoration on the tree. This year it will be an amazing Christmas. There will be one more person at the Christmas Eve table. It will be the first Christmas of our beloved granddaughter Ester.

At home, Christmas is traditional, the whole family gathers and we celebrate it together.

A live tree is being decorated and a festive dinner is being prepared, a chain and an axe must not be missing under the table.

On the table, one more plate is set for an unexpected guest who is somewhere on the way.

A carp scale rests under each plate, a short story is hidden in it.

Many of the customs are followed in our country and passed down from generation to generation.

During Advent, we bake together, decorate fragrant gingerbread, and the day before Christmas Eve, fish are selected at the market.

My husband and granddaughter fish out the largest carp from the barrel, which they put in a tub at home.

During the day, checks are often done, we read from his mouth: "let go – me – already – do – in – dy".

Since Mila, our dear granddaughter, loves all animals, I can't tell her what awaits him later.

Our carp also got a name, it was called Bublinka. Do you want to know how it turned out, poor thing?

Although we know very well that it will end up on the holiday plate, we cannot fill our children's eyes with tears!

After all, animals that have a name are not eaten! And we, adults, are therefore looking for solutions.

So nicely before going to bed in the evening we say goodbye to him and claim that we will let him back into the river at night.

In return, He will leave us golden scales that will fulfill our secret wishes.

On Christmas Eve morning, she runs straight to the kitchen, takes them in her little palm and whispers softly.

We send our wishes to heaven together, we wish everyone joy, love and especially health.

One more is stored under each Christmas Eve plate and we believe that it will multiply our money.

Such a small lie in this case, a beautiful story will remain in the heart of every small child, ...
