Employees of Coke making division worked 1,500,000 hours without injury

A team of more than 590 employees of Coking Division reached excellent result in the area of occupational safety, 1,500,000 hours worked without injury. The valuable result was accentuated at the business breakfast organized last week, on Monday, Aug 08 in the UMD canteen together with the company President Scott D. Buckiso. Marcel Novosad, Vice President Operations, Mark T. Salo, general manager OSH and REACH, and Joseph H. Morey, general manager Primary Operations also attended the event and thanked more than 170 present employees and the whole Division staff.

„Neither a ton of steel, nor a ton of coke is so important to allow us to endanger health of our employees. Therefore, we have to continue in the set forth path, to help one another, and to take care of safety of our own and or our fellow coworkers. I am sure that in this way we will succeed and reach 3 million of injury-free hours,“ President U. S. Steel Košice S. Buckiso said in his speech, among other things.
