Review of industrial accident prevention finds no weak points

Between June 7 and October 5 this year U. S. Steel Košice underwent coordinated review of its system of prevention of serious industrial accidents. This review was supervised by the Slovak Environmental Inspection Agency and also involved the participation of other control bodies of state administration, namely the Labour Inspectorate, Regional Office of Public Health, District Office Department for Crisis Management and Department for Environmental Protection, and the District Fire and Rescue Brigade Headquarters.

Inspections focused on the operation of the wet gasholder for converter gas at the Steel Plants Division. The Košice Inspectorate of the Slovak Environmental Inspection Agency represented by Dana Vargová confirmed compliance with legislational requirements in this area and discovered no weak points in the system which would be in breach of Law No. 128/2015 Coll.
