Volunteers must be fully vaccinated

The pandemic caused many unexpected situations and U. S. Steel scholarship holders who study medicine decided to help. Malvína Vargová is the 4th year student of Faculty of Medicine at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. She worked as a medical staff member at the hospital and other facilities.

“During the 1st wave I volunteered as an administrative worker of the first testing at our housing estate”, Malvína said. “Then I worked as an administrative worker for sampling in mobile collection points. I participated in USSK volunteer activity – Steelmaker´s Drop of Blood where I assisted in the registration of blood donors. During the 3rd wave my classmate and I registered in the “We are prepared” program and as volunteers we can help where it is currently needed.”

Malvína points out that everyone who wants to give a helping hand as a volunteer must meet one condition – be fully vaccinated.  She believes that this pandemic situation ends up quickly and that there will be more opportunities to engage in volunteer events organized by the company.
